Guest Professorship in Korea Studies
The position offered is available the academic year for 2011-2012, starting 01.10.2011
In research and teaching, the ideal candidate is expected to specialize in history, concentrating on modern and contemporary history. The person selected must have fluency in spoken and written Korean and German. The position includes six hours of teaching. The candidate is expected to participate in research projects to be established at the AOI as well as in interfaculty institutions.
Requirements for an appointment are: a) outstanding Ph.Dissertation in the field of History b) international recognized publications c) experience in German-Korean academic relations d) didactic qualification.
The person selected is provided a round trip economy class airfare. He/She is provided a monthly salary of 2,211 Euro to 3,050 Euro depending on his/her qualification for the whole academic year (12 months) directly by the Korea Foundation as well as funds necessary to cover relocation, purchase of books and other materials needed to prepare for teaching courses. The housing costs in Tuebingen up to 500 Euro per month are provided from the University of Tuebingen.
