Korean Language Teacher, Heidelberg University

The Heidelberg University Centre for East Asian Studies is hiring a Korean Language Teacher starting from September or October 2012. Ideal candidates will have at least an M.A. degree and be experienced or trained in teaching Korean as a foreign language. A decent command of German is also desirable. The teaching load during the semester may be up to 10 hours per week. Some administrative work related to maintaining and developing a Korean Studies program and liaison work with Korean institutions will also be expected. Application with cover letter, CV and grade transcripts should be directed in English or German to Ms. Shupin Lang (lang@asia-europe.uni-heidelberg.de) and addressed to the head of the search group Professor Harald Fuess. Deadline of application is 1 March 2012 and finalists will be interviewed in Heidelberg in May. This position is supported by a grant from the Korea Foundation with the initial appointment limited to one year or three years but with plans to establish a longer-term full lecturership upon the acquisition of further funding.
