5 Colleges Lecturer in Korean
The University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a 3 year renewable full-time lectureship in Korean language (6 courses per year) beginning Fall 2012. The successful candidate will be prepared to offer courses in elementary, intermediate and/or advanced Korean language. The Korean language lecturer will play a vital role in our innovative learning model that accommodates the needs of students spread among the five campuses. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in language is expected.
The Korean language lecturer will be a joint appointee in the Five College Korean Language Program and will be based in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. Joint appointees normally teach on more than one campus. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English. The academic field of specialization should be in a field of language education such as TESOL or linguistics and education. Ph.D. preferred, Master’s degree required as is at least one year of experience teaching Korean at a college-level institution.
